The Xiaomi Tag is a small, 10 g Bluetooth finder that clips onto the things you misplace most — keys, wallets, handbags, backpacks, camera bags, remotes and check-in luggage — so finding them takes seconds instead of an afternoon. How the Xiaomi Tag finds your things When your item is close by, open the app and ring the Tag’s built-in buzzer, then follow the sound. When it isn’t, the Tag’s encrypted Bluetooth signal is picked up by passing phones on your chosen finding network, which quietly update its position on your map. That makes it very good at answering “where did I last have it” — the coffee shop, the gym, the seat pocket on the flight. The Xiaomi Tag is a Bluetooth item finder rather than a GPS tracker, so it shows you where something was last seen instead of streaming a live position. During setup you choose Apple Find My or Google Find Hub , and the Tag then draws on the millions of devices already on that network to report back. Apple users get the network built into every iPhone and iPad; Android users get Find Hub, which reaches Android 9 devices and later — a genuine advantage in South Africa, where Android dominates.
